I like big hats and I can not lie

Obviously cold times are perfect to wear a hat, both warm and stylish. I'm definitely planning to expand my collection and add some more colour to it. A burgundy hat is on my wishlist right now.
In the meantime some inspirational images of ladies doing it right by wearing one.

Btw, loving every look from these pictures! All images through my Pinterest board.

After dark

The fact that it gets dark pretty quickly during the winter is pretty annoying. Especially when you don't wake up earlier than noon during the weekends. It's getting dark just a few hours after brunch, luxury problems. I'm even lazier during the cold days. You can't blame me, I had to wake up at 5.20 am for years, I treasure my sleep while I can. The lack of light is a problem for outfit pictures and the cold doesn't make this easier.

But better times are ahead, the weather forecast promises +12°C next week. Now this is just surreal. It's -2°C now. I ain't complaining though, my leather jackets are waiting.

This is the most practical winter outfit. Nothing better than a parka during the cold days. And I love my new pink beanie. I literally found it on the floor at the local H&M. New bargain purchase, just 5 euros, I'm on a roll. A colored beanie is also the easiest way to add color to your winter wardrobe.

Wearing: Sora by JBC parka, H&M sweater, jeans, scarf & beanie, Sacha boots, Zara bag, Twice As Nice ring.

Yes, I'm totally aware, I'm as pale as snow again.

Still cold

Still the same cold weather here. At least the sun is shining today.
We had a lot of snow the past weekend. I seriously don't know how people survive in the North.
But the cold is the perfect time to wear my faux furs and let me tell you, I have a lot of them!
Not much to tell here except weather complaining. Still on the job hunt, still a lot of work in our house.
Very looking forward to spring, but in the meantime have to try my best to wear my fur coats as much as possible.

As by coincident I'm wearing various sale finds in this outfit. All items except the shoes are from various H&M sale finds. The most 'expensive' is the fur coat, I only paid 25 euros for it. The sweater is from the men's department, only for 5 euros. I live in it during fall and winter. Last, but not least are my new, glorious, real leather pants from the Margiela collection for H&M. Coming from 400 to just 20!! Definitely most epic sale find. It was pretty hard to get into them in the fitting room, but the leather gave in a bit and fits pretty nice now. Though sitting is not the easiest task.

Wearing: H&M faux fur coat & sweater, Margiela x H&M leather pants, Sacha boots, Primark beanie, Fossil key bracelet, Twice As Nice ring, Ebay Labradorite pendant.

I've always been a fan of semi precious stones and this Labradorite pendant is the favorite in my collection. Labradorite is thought to be a power stone, that allows to see through illusions and determine your real dreams and goals. It also strengthens the intuition, giving a quick relief from anxiety, hopelessness and depression, replacing them with enthusiasm, self-confidence and inspiration.

All in all, a perfect stone for me. I've been wearing it a lot lately.

In all four years (OMG, I know) that I've been blogging I never took outfit pictures in my actual home town. I lived here since we moved to Belgium, 11 years already. I'm quite fond of it. It's not too big, but not a village either. I rarely do anything besides doing grocery shopping or visiting the library here. My boyfriend and our new house are in another city and I'll be moving once everything is ready there. Still be my home town frequently though.

Pictures by my dear friend Nina. It was so cold when we took the pictures, the wind was literally ice cold. We couldn't feel our fingers, but are still looking cool (get it?!).

Bright or not

Well, the snow was okay for a day or two, but I'm already tired of it. Unfortunately more snow coming up this weekend. I hate the cold, the slippery pavements, the cold feet, ... Maybe it's because I'm having a bad day. It's not always sunshine and rainbows with me. I'm not feeling it today. Winter just leaves me blue. I don't really feel like blogging either. Don't know, sometimes it feels like a waste of time.
I don't really feel like oversharing my personal life with everybody.
So I just leave you with another outfit post of me in a better mood.

Snow morning

I'm sorry for my absence. These were busy times again. I was helping my friends out at Black Balloon with the rush towards fashion weeks in Berlin and Paris. These girls are taking over the world. With collections already being sold in Tokyo and soon also in Milan. So proud of them and glad to contribute to their growing success.

In other news, winter finally found it's way to Belgium. Not that I'm that happy, but I was surprised this morning when I looked out of the window. I had to get up early (everything before 10am is early to me) and it was still dark. I didn't want to wait, so we went to take outfit pictures at 9am. Actually, I was quite excited about the snow. If you don't have to go to work or school, snow can be fun.

Finally got around to wear my self-made coat. I made it last year in college. It's pretty warm, so perfect for the cold days. Only need to put buttons on it.

Wearing: DIY coat, H&M sweater, Zara turtle neck, c/o G-Star Raw jeans, Sacha boots, Forever 21 necklace, Asos beanie.

HAIL, to the snow gods!

Also want to introduce you to my favorite jeans EVER! I've been living in them for weeks, since I got them at the G-Star Women's Night in Antwerp. These are Arc 3D skinnies and they doesn't even feel like jeans, but more like leggings. Super stretchy and they don't lose their fit. Super comfortable and just perfect. I never bought jeans that were more expensive than 50 euros, but these are totally worth their price tag. I haven't worn my other jeans since. You get them here.

Amagad or what?!

And more news, after 10 years, I finally got a new tattoo. It's on the side of my ribcage. It's not completely healed yet, but I wanted to show it anyway. I wanted something small and elegant to get started again. I'm very happy with it. I'm not going to talk about the meaning of it, because it's pretty clear. It's just a small reminder to myself.
And yes, you can totally call me a hipster now :p

First outfit of 2013

Well, it's finally here. I'm that kind of blogger ( a bad one?)  that has no stock of pictures
whatsoever it took a while.
These were taken today in Antwerp, me and bestie took a stroll around Meir to see what's going on at the sales. I'm not really shopping these days, but you can look, right?!
We had a lots of fun, exchanged presents and ate sushi (again).

I actually did buy something. I finally picked up the key bracelet from Fossil I've been drooling on. I got a gift certificate from bestie. I also made the most EPIC sale purchase EVER! Remember the Margiela collab with H&M?! Well, the remaining stuff was dumped at the sales section with most items going for as less as 20 euros a piece. Including the leather pants that came from 400. We just went crazy when we found two pairs in our size. Even though putting them on is a real challenge. It's very possible that the fitting model was anorexic, but after a struggle of at least 10min and lots of sweating I got them on. I'm so happy with them! Can't wait to wear them.

I love layering during the winter days. It's an excuse to wear everything at once. This morning I stood before my closet and couldn't decide what to wear. I hate such days. I definitely have plenty of clothes, but moments like these, you just hate it all. I decided to wear a dress/oversized sweater that I haven't worn for years. I always love stripes and graphic prints are hot for 2013. This dress doesn't even feels like proper clothes. Makes me feel like wearing pj's outside, great feeling btw! Throw in the softest panda beanie and a fur scarf and you're good to go.

Wearing: Vintage cardigan, Lipsy leather jacket, Zara oversized sweater, Salamander boots, Jeff beanie, Fossil bracelet, c/o Swatch watch.

12 to 13

Hi, there! Here we're already in 2013. I hope you all had a good time.
I'm sure not much has changed, though.
I don't think I ever did an outfit recap post before. January is a month of transition here. I was always pretty busy with studying, but now, first year in a row I don't have to. I must say it feels pretty liberating.

So here's a small recap and some 2013 resolutions all at once.
Although I've been blogging for some time now, 2012 was really a year I stepped up my game. As I'm pretty (read veeery) self-critical , I'm rarely satisfied with my work, but I'm pretty content with how my blog has turned out the last year. I still have fun doing it and this is what counts. I must admit that I don't have a 'big picture' in my mind, as some of my colleagues do. We'll see where time takes us, go with the flow. Life is pretty unpredictable, so I don't like planning too much ahead.

A review of some outfits of 2012.

You can definitely see A LOT more color than before. Wearing more color was one of my resolutions for 2012. Guess, I succeeded there.

Which outfit was your favorite from last year? As my style is pretty versatile, I can't really chose. But I love my floral Zara dress and neon sandals, from the top, a lot!

The past year wouldn't have been the same without the people in my life. Close or far away, those are the people who keep us real. Without them I wouldn't be me.
These are some of my favorite group shots from the past year. I don't have pics from all my friends, but to those who are not here, I love you too, peepz!

2013 Resolutions

1. Find a job - main resolution for this year. Hope the stars will be good this year ;)
2. Get a driving license - also a pretty important resolution. I'm struggling through my theory book as we speak. Other books and magazines are way more tempting, though.
3. Start working out or at least start some sport activity - a resolution that together with 98% of the world fails every year. I'm in worst physical shape, sometimes I feel like a 80 year old, for real! I want to try yoga and swimming. Let's be physical in 2013, sorry, just had to!
4. Get our house ready and move - so looking forward to finally start decorating!
5. Blog more & better - Don't know if I can do more, but there's always place for improvement. Keep it fresh, maybe? Blog suggestion are always welcome. What do you want to see in 2013?
6. Finally print those business cards!
7. Clean out my closet( again) & maybe redefine my style (again)
8. Build up a styling portfolio - styling is one of my big passions and I really want to focus on it this year.
9. Also focus on my illustration & sewing - I got skillz, but I need space to practice them, which I currently don't have. Need to get 4. done!
10. Read more - I need a second life for all these books I still want to read.
11. Get new ink! - after 10 years since my last tattoo (no, I'm not that old, I was just 15), I can't wait to get some new stuff. As my old one was pretty blurry I had it redone last month, it looks as good as new now. New stuff coming up pretty soon.

There's probably more, but that's all I can think of or willing to share here.
What are your resolutions for the new year?
