Belgium has got some fashion talent and we're not afraid to show it!
For the first time Flanders and Wallonia decided to join forces during Paris Fashion Week.
Flanders Fashion Institute (FFI) and Wallonie-Bruxelles Design/Mode (WBDM) collaborated together to show the world a new group of Belgian talent.
From 1st to 5th october fifteen different designers will present their collections to the media and buyers in Les Belges showroom in Paris.
I think this is a wonderful opportunity for young talent to get discovered and make good connections abroad.
I wish them all good luck on their journey!
Here's a small selection of my favorite designers:
Izumi Hongo has just finished her education at the Fashion Academy of Antwerp.
With her collection "Private Painting" she won the Sacha Shoe Award 2010.
She'll launch her own line named " Van Hongo" this october.
The Duo Boris Schipper and Tomas Pedrosa Arques, or just Schipper/Arques
Nostalgic and feminine lingerie and accessories by Céline Pinckers
Funky shirts by a sister duo Filles a papa
Awesome concept :)
ReplyDeleteInteressante post!
ReplyDeleteits really nice to see people promoting talent from their country. vancouver desingers really are not that great so i never feel the need to go to fashion week or promoe them. i much prefer my romanian designers. they are so much better.
ReplyDeletebtw i read your answers on formspring.
when u mean u study fashion technilogy is that design as well or just the techinal aspect of it?
de lingerie is echt helemaal mijn ding, zéér skoon!
ReplyDeleteIzumi Hongo looks incredibly promising! That is such a nice coat, and I would wear those shoes in an instant! She has such a nice 20s vibe! Still, we have to consider that she went to Antwerp, so she was bound to come up with something great.
ReplyDeletep.s. Chuck forever! :D
