Change For the Better: Part IV

Here I'm, still alive. Another way too long blogging absence, work more, blog less kind of thing.
I had a long weekend off last week and the most amazing thing happened, my nephew, whom I haven't seen for about 20 years!! came to Brussels with a surprise visit. I can't even describe how nice it was to finally see him again. The day after I was a bit sick and didn't come out of bed and this week I have been working and
am sick again on my day off. Working tomorrow again, you can say it has been a hard week, so no outfit pictures, but I'll be doing my best to catch up this weekend.

Though, I have been productive with my CFTB pledge. Yes, I'm still at it, my goal to getting fit takes more and more form. In my case in the form of arm muscles.
Always when I flexed my arms with full force you couldn't feel a thing, but I started lifting weights again and just after a week the result was already there. So toned down arms are definitely happening for the Summer.
I'd hate to get those floppy arms when ageing and doing weights is an easy and quick way to keep your arms in shape. I do about 10 minutes of excersises a day at home, perfect when you're as tired in the evening as moi or just generally lazy. If you are interested, here's a work-out I do every day.

Also another good news, I finally got that fitness card and convinced (forced) the bf to get one too, so we could work-out together. I got a card from Basic Fit, one for the year, but where you can pay only 17,99 a month, which is ideal for me. I actually look forward to my time in the fitness and even made a work-out mix on my iPod. One with really hard music and the other with Pop songs, depending on my mood. Currently very much digging my new training shoes.

Also slowly picking up different outfits for the fitness, also important, right?! I love the 'Start Moving' sports collection from Bershka. Affordable and pretty gear, just what I need right now! Very much in love with that sweater.

With all this life going on I missed my blog birthday this month. Can't believe my blog is already 5 years old. I still haven't reached that world domination blog status, but I still love this mine little place of online life.
So a little 'yay' for me and my blog. You must admit this shows some devotion.

Lace slip dress

Moving on from slip-on sneakers to slip dresses, another garment I have a long fascination for.
Luckily lingerie as outerwear has made it's full comeback!
In the middle of the Winter, sans car, I prefer to stay warm, so I decided to wear a slip dress over a turtle neck sweater. I'm quite fond of the result and it's a practical way to down dress this garment. For an extra 90's touch add biker boots and a leopard faux fur coat. Oh, Grunge essentials, what I'd be without you?!
This outfit was what I wore over the Valentines weekend. We went out to dinner and I lost that turtle neck and the bra to give the dress that lingerie touch back. It was just another weekend for us, we make Valentine worthy time every time we're together, 'cause that's how we roll.

It was raining during this outfit meet-up with Annebeth, so we decided to take pictures inside her University building. Lemme tell you, it ain't no picnic to look acceptable after rain and in TL lighting.
Luckily we found a spot with some natural light, but still, there was no saving that hair of mine anymore. Humidity just kills it!

Wearing: Zara coat, slip dress and boots, H&M earrings and overknee socks, Michael Kors watch, Twice As Nice ring.

My previous pair of similar biker boots has been well worn over the last two years and half, so it was time for a new pair. This pair was a great sales bargain, I paid just 25 euro's for them at the Zara.

Summer of slips

I love slip on sneakers so much I made a collage of them at 1AM.

Yes, I really had to use that title, because it simply says it all. There goes my ever ongoing rant about how I hate Winter and want Summer. I'm ready for it, but I know there's still a fat chance Winter will catch up on us and since I'm not that crazy person who wears Summer shoes in Winter, I'm left with eternal awaiting of warmer temperatures. You've got to love the fact that everything in fashion is recyclable (except for mom jeans, please don't!). While I was in high school checked Vans were all the rage. I had one fake pair (the real deal was too expensive for us back in the days) and another white one with red Pop Art, cartoon like print. Unfortunately I got rid of them years ago during one of my cleaning rage attacks.
But I'm ready for new ones. Givenchy has a floral pair that is to die for, but I'll be sticking with cheaper alternatives, Asos has some very nice pair. I especially love the holographic one! Need to check out Vans too, because now I can at least afford one. I wouldn't mind to have a lot of different pairs, as they're cool and comfortable at the same time, which is my shoe motto!

What 'bout you, do you love some slip-on's for the S/S period?

By the way, Happy V-Day to all who is celebrating. If you want to read a story about true love, head to
Annebeth's blog (CAUTION: her story might make you cry, I teared up a little).

Winter days

Though, Winter has been good on us, I'm already through with it. The mass of layers, dark and cold days force me to stay in (and eat a lot) and be lazy most of the time, at least when I'm not working.
I'm longing for those warmer Spring days already. Warmer weather and sun somehow always elevate me and bring in me in good spirits.

In the meantime I'm surviving with lots of series, books, films, a lot of coffee and fearing a snow storm.
So, wearing a lot of oversized and preferably fluffy sweaters makes Winter bearable. What's with you?

Wearing: Bershka sweater, vintage skirt, Sacha c/o boots.

By the way, I haven't washed my hair for 6 days and coming by with dry shampoo. Luckily after coloring my hair doesn't get dirty as quick. Still postponing the first washing process. Everything to save that beautiful color.
