Sssnakes

These beautiful pictures were taken by Guido Mocafico.
I'm so mesmerized by them, especially by the colors. The greens are my favorite ones, because it's my favorite color.
Snakes are very fascinating creatures, only to think that they have been around for ages.
I would never keep one as a pet, though, I think that they belong to live in their natural habitat.

Nature has always been a great inspiration source for fashion. Off course these images instantly made me think about McQueen's new campaign picture for the s/s 2010.

Still busy with my exams.
Have just one to go now, can't wait till it's over.
I hope they went well.
Next weekend I have two shoots, one for ELLE Belgium.
It's going to be a lifestyle shoot, I'm very looking forward to it.
The second one is a shoot with the amazing Julien Lesur.

Down the memory lane

Today I want to show you an exquisite piece by Charles James.
It's a quilted silk evening jacket from 1937.
This jacket was far ahead of it's time, now it still looks modern and fresh.
All of his work was amazing, but this jacket is one of a timeless pieces.
The jacket and the dress are now in the collection of Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

It reminds me of the Moncler Gamme Rouge fall 09 collection by Giambatista Valli.
The collection was inspired by the style of the Russian tsars on the V&A exhibition.
I love the fragile look of this collection.

Spotted

For a long time I've been searching for a perfect leopard faux fur coat.
How happy was I to see that H&M sold just what I was looking for!
But, a smart girl that I am, I waited to buy it. Now it's mine, I've got it at the sales at -60% off.
Nothing like a good bargain! I'm so happy with it. I'm a major sucker for leopard print. A perfect dress is still on the search list...
Another addition to my faux fur collection. At this moment I have 10 faux fur coats. I always say: "A girl can't have too many... "
The good thing about this one is that it can be worn in a real classy 50s or 60s way or with a little rock'n'roll twist. I opted for the second version, but in a subtle way, ' cause I had to go to an exam like that.

The scarf is actually DIY. It's really long and really loosely knitted with holes in it.
But you can't see it here, I'll take some better pictures next time.
You already can guess where my inspiration came from.

The Dr. Martens that I wore, are one of my favorite shoes ever. I got this pair last winter.
The zip front and the pointed toe make them a bit different from the rest of Martens collection.

Winter is still here, so is the snow.
It gets harder every time to get dressed for the weather.
But I'm too busy to go out of the house anyway, as I have to study for my exams.
I've already did 3 and have 5 to go.
This are hard times for me, studying the whole day isn't what you call "fun".
And my desktop computer also died last sunday, we were best friends for more than 6 years :(
I was without internet for two days, pretty hard for an addict like me. Now I have to borrow my bf's laptop.
It died at the moment when I was about to post those pictures.

Le Printemps

Le Printemps, a departement store in Paris, has an amazing window display this winter.
It's a Russian theme this time and it even makes me a little proud, 'cause I'm Russian myself.
I'm absolutely in love with this pictures, the windows look like a fairytale world.
I wish I could see it with my own eyes! I miss Paris, this city has it all for me. It feels like magic every time I'm there.

It also displays this Baccarat crystal chandelier that was first introduced at the World Expo of 1867 in Paris. The chandelier was made in honour of tsarina Maria Aleksandrovna, the wife of tsaar Aleksander II. The tsaar had a big love for crystal.
